Where to Have Thanksgiving Dinner in Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte Counties in 2026

Thanksgiving week is one of the best weeks of the year in Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte Counties. The seasonal residents are arriving, the weather is in the 70s, and plenty of restaurants stay open through the holiday for the locals and the snowbirds who would rather book a table than cook for twelve.
This guide covers established restaurants worth calling first across the three counties, what to ask when you book, and what to know if you are house-hunting over the holiday week. The advice is simple: call ahead, because holiday menus and hours are set closer to the week and many places adjust both.
What should you know before booking a Thanksgiving meal in Florida?
Book as soon as you know your plans. Holiday week is one of the busiest stretches of the year, because seasonal residents are back and visitors are in town. When you call, ask three questions: are you serving a Thanksgiving menu, the regular menu, or family-style; what are your hours on Thanksgiving Day; and do you take reservations or is it first come, first served. A restaurant with a website will often post its holiday plans there, so check before calling.
Also plan for the seasonal rhythm: popular places book out days ahead during peak weeks, and Thanksgiving is no different. If your first choice is full, ask about takeout or an earlier seating.
Sarasota restaurants worth calling first
In Sarasota County, a handful of established names come up again and again when locals plan a holiday meal out. Yoder's Restaurant on Bahia Vista Street has served Amish-style comfort food to Sarasota for decades; call (941) 955-7771 about holiday hours. Walt's Fish Market on South Tamiami Trail is where locals go for fresh Gulf seafood, at (941) 921-4605. Marina Jack on the bayfront offers dining with a marina view, at (941) 365-4232.
Downtown, Indigenous on South Links Avenue is a farm-to-table favorite at (941) 706-4740, and Mediterraneo on Main Street adds a Mediterranean touch at (941) 365-4122. Siegfried's on Fruitville Road offers something different, German cuisine in a welcoming biergarten, at (941) 330-9330. Sarasocial on Main Street rounds out the downtown list at (941) 955-9555.
Manatee County: Bradenton and Palmetto
Across the river in Manatee County, O'Bricks Irish Pub and Martini Bar in downtown Bradenton serves hearty, home-style fare that feels like a neighborhood gathering, at (941) 896-8860. The Sage Biscuit Café, also downtown, is a local favorite for breakfast and lunch, at (941) 405-4744. For a table on the water, Riverhouse Waterfront Restaurant in Palmetto sits right on the Manatee River, at (941) 729-0616. Oak & Stone in Bradenton is a solid pick for a more casual, craft-focused meal, at (941) 357-4306.
Charlotte County: Port Charlotte
Farther south in Charlotte County, Port Charlotte has its own dependable list. Wally's Southern Style BBQ on South Tamiami Trail is the kind of place where locals line up for smoked meats, at (941) 613-0005. Luigi's Pizzeria has been serving Italian comfort food for years, at (941) 624-3535. Plaza Mexico brings a festive, family-friendly option to the holiday week, at (941) 239-1946, and Los Mariachis adds another well-loved Mexican spot on the same stretch, at (941) 627-8030.
What if you would rather cook at home?
Plenty of people moving to Florida keep the tradition of cooking at home, and there is no reason that has to stop. Shop early, because shelves get picked over the day before the holiday. Many local grocers and markets offer pre-ordered holiday meals, so call a week out to confirm pickup deadlines. Farmers markets across the three counties run through the season, and local citrus makes a welcome addition to any table.
A note for house-hunters visiting over Thanksgiving week
If you are using the holiday week to look at homes, you have picked a good time. The snowbird wave is arriving, so you will see the seasonal rhythm up close, and traffic is still lighter than it will be in January. Sellers who list in late November are often serious about the season ahead. Pairing a few showings with meals at places like the ones above is the quickest way to get a feel for a neighborhood.
If you cannot make it in person, that is not a reason to wait. I routinely work with out-of-state buyers through video walkthroughs and honest on-the-ground perspective, so you can keep moving even from a distance. Either way, the phone number is the same: (941) 724-2587.
Whatever your holiday week looks like, I hope it is a good one. If you are thinking about a move to Sarasota, Manatee, or Charlotte County, I would be glad to talk it through over a cup of coffee or a phone call.
