Friday, July 31
"Forgotten Broadway" at Florida Studio Theatre
Florida Studio Theatre, 1241 N. Palm Avenue. July 31 through August 1. This cabaret-style production celebrates the songs and stories from Broadway musicals that have been overlooked or deserve a second look. TheMaxOut360 Block Party
Downtown Sarasota. Running July 30 through August 16. This multi-day community block party brings live music, food vendors, and entertainment to the heart of downtown Sarasota. Friday evening is a great time to catch the opening weekend energy. Free to attend with food and drinks available for purchase.
Live Music Fridays at Dog Bar Sarasota
Dog Bar Sarasota, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Free admission. Enjoy live music while your four-legged friend plays in the off-leash area. A relaxed way to kick off the weekend with your dog by your side.
Laser Light Nights at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature
The Bishop Museum, 940 Channel Drive. Thursday through Saturday evenings. This summer-long series transforms the planetarium into a concert-style visual experience with laser lights set to music. A fun, family-friendly option for Friday night.

Downtown Sarasota Farmers Market
Lemon Avenue and Main Street, 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Free admission. Rain or shine. Sarasota's weekly farmers market has been a downtown institution since 1979. Shop for local produce, fresh-baked bread, honey, artisan crafts, plants, and prepared foods. Arrive early for the best selection and enjoy the lively Main Street atmosphere.
Florida State Dance Sport Championships
Downtown Sarasota venue. August 1-2, 2026. Professional and amateur dancers from around the world compete in this prestigious event. Spectators are welcome to watch ballroom, Latin, and other dance styles as competitors showcase their artistry and athleticism. Ticket information available through the event organizers.
Summer Circus Spectacular at The Ringling
The Historic Asolo Theater at The Ringling, 5401 Bay Shore Road. Shows at 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 5:00 PM. Running August 1-8. This beloved summer tradition returns with a family-friendly circus performance featuring world-class acts in collaboration with The Circus Arts Conservatory. The Ringling's Bayfront Gardens and Museum of Art are also open for exploring before or after the show.
"Shared Light: Photographs by Lynn Goldsmith" at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 1534 Mound Street. Open during regular garden hours. This exhibition opens August 1 and runs through September 13, featuring celebrity portraits and fine-art images by renowned American photographer Lynn Goldsmith. "The Last Romance" at Florida Studio Theatre
Florida Studio Theatre's Gompertz Theatre, 1265 1st Street. Running through August 16. Summer Circus Spectacular

Participating restaurants offer exclusive prix-fixe menus at three price points: $25 for two-course brunch or lunch, and $35 or $45 for three-course dinner. Many menus include wine pairings and specialty cocktails. Participating restaurants are spread across both downtown hubs, making it easy to try a new spot each visit.

Lakewood Main Street. Several restaurants and cafes along Main Street offer outdoor seating and a relaxed evening atmosphere. A Taste of the Ranch specials are available at participating locations. Check in advance for reservations, as Friday evenings draw a steady crowd.

A Taste of Waterside Place — Final Day
Waterside Place restaurants. This prix-fixe dining event runs July 25 through August 1, making Saturday the last day to enjoy the special menus and wine pairings at participating Waterside Place restaurants. A great excuse to explore the newer dining options at this vibrant hub.
Saturday Live Music at Remy's on Main
Remy's on Main, Lakewood Main Street, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Remy's features live music every Saturday, making it a go-to for dinner, craft cocktails, and a lively soundtrack. Their menu focuses on American classics with a coastal Florida twist.
Final Night of A Taste of the Ranch
Participating restaurants. Saturday night is the final evening to take advantage of the prix-fixe dinner menus offered through the summer dining event. Many restaurants offer three-course menus paired with wine selections.

Farmers Market at Lakewood Ranch
Waterside Place, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Free admission. Every Sunday, over 100 local vendors set up at Waterside Place offering organic produce, fresh flowers, specialty spices, honey, artisan bread, baked goods, and prepared foods. Frequently named one of the best farmers markets in the country, it is a Sunday ritual for Lakewood Ranch residents and a lovely way to spend an August morning. Just as A Taste of Waterside Place wraps up, the Main Street edition kicks off, offering prix-fixe menus, specialty cocktails, and wine pairings at participating restaurants along Lakewood Main Street. A Taste of Main Street Continues
With the dining event running through August 9, Monday is an excellent night to try a quieter experience at one of the participating restaurants without the weekend rush.
Enjoy Waterside Place

Village of the Arts Art Walk & Market
